The Vita Health Way: Controlling
the Four Pillars of Aging
Vita Health Program for Healthspan
At Vita Health, we believe vitality is built by intention—not by chance. The Vita Health Program for Healthspan is a comprehensive, evidence-informed, physician-guided approach to preventive and metabolic health, designed to help you live with greater clarity, energy, strength, and function across the years ahead.
Rather than focusing on disease labels or promises of longevity, the program addresses the root biological processes that influence aging, metabolic health, and functional decline over time.
The foundations of care at Vita Health include:
- Hormone balance, supporting energy, cognition, body composition, and metabolic resilience
- Glycation reduction, addressing insulin resistance and tissue aging
- Oxidative stress reduction, supporting mitochondrial function and cellular health
- Movement, a cornerstone therapy for strength, mobility, and long-term independence
In addition, environmental and chemical exposures are addressed as important modifiers of all four foundations, recognizing their role in endocrine disruption, metabolic dysfunction, and accelerated aging.
Together, these elements form the foundation of the Vita Health Way—an intentional, personalized approach to aging well, focused on preserving function, independence, and quality of life by adding life to your years.
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)
Hormones regulate energy, cognition, mood, muscle mass, bone density, and metabolism. With age, women experience sudden hormone changes around the age of 50 (menopause), and men begin experiencing a gradual decline in hormone levels around the age of 40 (andropause) - changes that can significantly affect overall well-being, function, and quality of life.
When clinically indicated, Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) supports the body’s natural hormone signaling using bioidentical estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, and, when appropriate, DHEA, pregnenolone, melatonin, and thyroid support.
The goal of BHRT at Vita Health is physiologic balance and symptom improvement—supporting energy, focus, metabolic health, and daily function—not to claim or guarantee increased lifespan or longevity.
At the conclusion of your initial 2.5-hour comprehensive consultation, you may receive:
- A prescription BHRT plan, when clinically appropriate, and
- A supplement recommendation, which may include non-prescription hormones (such as DHEA, pregnenolone, or melatonin), vitamin D3, and essential nutrients shown to decline with age and support optimal health
All hormone therapy decisions are individualized, evidence-informed, and revisited over time as clinical needs and goals evolve.
Reducing Glycation
Glycation occurs when sugars bind to proteins, fats, and DNA, forming advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) and advanced lipoxidation end-products. Over time, these compounds impair cellular structure and tissue function, contributing to metabolic dysfunction, stiffness, and accelerated functional aging.
The most effective strategies for reducing glycation are nutrition and movement—the true foundation of metabolic health improvement.
At Vita Health, glycation reduction emphasizes:
- Whole, unprocessed foods with minimal added sugars and low fructose content to reduce glycation stress
- Balanced age appropriate protein intake, sufficient to preserve muscle mass without excess
- Strength-based movement, which improves insulin sensitivity and supports metabolic flexibility
When clinically appropriate, adjunctive therapies such as IV nutrient therapy, hydrogen therapy, or methylene blue (MB) may be used to support cellular health and metabolic resilience. These therapies are complements—not substitutes—for nutrition and movement, and are not required for every patient.
Limiting Oxidation
Oxidation reflects cumulative cellular stress caused by free radicals, inflammation, and environmental exposures. Over time, excessive oxidative stress contributes to mitochondrial dysfunction, impaired tissue repair, and progressive loss of cellular resilience.
Foundational strategies for limiting oxidation include:
- Clean hydration
- Nutrient-dense, whole foods
- Regular physical movement
Together, these foundational practices support the body’s intrinsic antioxidant systems and mitochondrial health.
When clinically appropriate, additional therapies may be used to support mitochondrial function and recovery:
- Hydrogen Therapy, which selectively neutralizes harmful free radicals
- Methylene Blue (MB), which supports mitochondrial energy production and redox balance
- IV Nutrient Therapy, to replenish antioxidants and micronutrients important for cellular repair
- Red Light Therapy (RLT), to support cellular energy production and tissue recovery
These therapies are used selectively, based on individual clinical needs, goals, and tolerance, and are not required components of care for every patient.
Movement as Medicine
Movement is a cornerstone of healthspan—and one of the few interventions consistently associated with improved quality of life, preserved function, and reduced all-cause mortality across the lifespan.
At Vita Health, movement is treated as medicine, not fitness and not aesthetics.
Regular physical activity, particularly when it includes strength training, mobility, balance, and aerobic conditioning, has been shown to:
- Improve insulin sensitivity and metabolic health
- Enhance hormone signaling and mitochondrial function
- Preserve muscle mass, bone density, balance, and joint integrity
- Reduce the risk of falls, frailty, and loss of independence
- Lower all-cause mortality over time
While no physician can prescribe longevity, consistent, intentional movement remains one of the most powerful tools available for preserving function and independence as we age.
As part of the Vita Health Program:- All patients receive a baseline movement framework designed to be safe, effective, and adaptable to individual needs and limitations
- This framework emphasizes strength, joint integrity, balance, flexibility, and cardiovascular capacity
- A movement orientation is provided to ensure exercises are performed safely and correctly
For patients who desire additional support, personalized coaching, advanced programming, and performance-focused training are available as optional enhancements.
Movement at Vita Health is not about pushing limits—it is about preserving capacity, supporting resilience, and maintaining the ability to live fully and independently for as long as possible.
Reducing Environmental and Chemical Exposures A Cross-Cutting Modifier of All Pillars
Long-term health is shaped not only by what we do intentionally, but also by the environment in which we live. Even well-designed programs for hormone balance, metabolic health, oxidative stress reduction, and movement can be undermined by chronic environmental and chemical exposures.
Everyday exposures—including endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), microplastics, obesogens, herbicides, pesticides, and mycotoxins—can interfere with hormone signaling, impair mitochondrial function, disrupt immune balance, and amplify both glycation and oxidative stress over time.
For this reason, reducing environmental and chemical exposure is integrated throughout the Vita Health Program as an essential modifier of all four pillars, rather than a standalone therapy.
As part of your care, we help you:
- Identify and reduce toxin exposure in food, water, indoor environments, and household products
- Understand the role of clean hydration, including the use of reverse osmosis (RO) water
- Recognize environmental factors, including mold and water-damaged environments, that may influence health and recovery
- Make practical, sustainable changes that reduce toxic burden without creating unnecessary complexity
These topics are addressed during your initial 2.5-hour comprehensive consultation and revisited during three quarterly 30-minute follow-up reviews throughout the first year of care.
The Role of Time-Restricted Feeding (TRF)
A Foundational Metabolic Practice
What you eat matters—but how and when you eat are equally important for metabolic health. Modern eating patterns often involve near-continuous food intake, which keeps the body in a constant “building mode” and limits the time available for cellular repair.
Continuous feeding chronically activates the mTOR pathway, a signal associated with growth and construction. While mTOR activation is essential at appropriate times, persistent activation prevents the body from shifting into repair, cleanup, and renewal processes.
- Improved insulin sensitivity and metabolic flexibility
- Reduced oxidative and glycation stress
- More efficient cellular maintenance and energy balance
TRF is included in the Vita Health Program as a basic metabolic strategy, not as a rigid rule. It is discussed and tailored based on individual health status, goals, lifestyle, and tolerance.
Comprehensive Evaluation and Implementation
Your Vita Health Program begins with a comprehensive medical and lifestyle evaluation, designed to understand how your body is functioning today and to guide personalized recommendations.
This evaluation is supported by laboratory testing, which may include:
- Complete blood count (CBC), metabolic panel, and lipid profile
- Hormone and thyroid assessment
- Measures of insulin resistance and metabolic health
During your 2.5-hour comprehensive consultation, these results are reviewed in detail alongside in-office diagnostics, which may include:
- DEXA + Body Composition Analysis Assessment of bone density, lean mass, and visceral fat
- Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) Evaluation of baseline metabolic efficiency
- Neurocognitive Testing Assessment of cognitive function and processing
- Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Use of a Stelo CGM device to track real-time glucose trends
You will provide consent to securely share glucose data through Clarity Clinic Share and will be asked to maintain a food log to help correlate nutrition patterns with glucose responses.
This information allows for a data-informed, individualized approach to implementation—ensuring that recommendations are thoughtful, appropriate, and adaptable over time.
