Scott Russi, MD FACS
Dr. Scott Russi is a physician who understands that healing begins when medicine looks beyond symptoms and supports the body’s natural balance. After more than three decades as a trauma and general surgeon in the United States Air Force and civilian hospitals, Dr. Russi founded Vita Health to focus on prevention, vitality, and wellness — medicine that helps patients feel their best at every stage of life.
His journey into restorative medicine began when both he and his wife experienced the limitations of conventional care firsthand. When his wife entered menopause, she suffered from weight gain, fatigue, bloating, and severe hot flashes that traditional medicine failed to resolve. Around the same time, Dr. Russi was diagnosed with an idiopathic autoimmune polyneuropathy that caused weakness, fasciculations, and chronic fatigue. After pursuing multiple treatments without improvement — and without answers — he began looking deeper. Through that search, he discovered Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) and began testosterone therapy himself, while also supporting his wife’s treatment.
“That single change — balancing one key hormone — transformed how we felt. It reignited our health, energy, and clarity in a way no prescription ever had.”
As Dr. Russi delved deeper, he recognized a pattern among his surgical patients: many were hormonally depleted and lacked the physiological reserves to recover from major procedures. He realized that while surgery could correct the acute problem, their underlying hormone deficiencies were preventing true healing. Through BHRT and age management medicine, he found the tools to support balance and cellular health — helping patients function and feel better every day.
A graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Dr. Russi completed residencies in both Internal Medicine and General Surgery at Wilford Hall and Keesler Medical Centers. He practiced extensively in both disciplines before focusing on surgery and later transitioning into restorative and functional medicine. Dr. Russi is a Certified Age Management Physician (AMMG) and a World Link Medical–certified provider in BHRT. During his 34-year career in the Air Force, he served as Colonel and Master Clinician, led medical teams across the globe, and helped establish Oregon’s first ACS-verified Level II Trauma Center.
Today, at Vita Health, Dr. Russi integrates his deep surgical and medical experience with a functional, preventive approach — focusing on metabolic balance, mitochondrial support, and hormonal harmony as the foundation of true wellness. His philosophy is simple but profound:
“The best medicine isn’t about fighting disease — it’s about restoring the design that was already there.”
Guided by faith in the body’s natural design and the purpose behind every healing journey, Dr. Russi helps patients rediscover strength, energy, and clarity — to live well and with purpose.

Health & Performance Coach | Longevity Movement Specialist
I'm a health and performance coach with over a decade of experience training individuals across the youth, collegiate, and professional levels—including time spent with Major League Soccer’s Portland Timbers. But my work extends far beyond sport. As a husband and father, I’ve come to value something even more foundational: healthspan—the number of years we can live with strength, vitality, and independence.
In our practice, I lead the movement and strength side of the healthspan equation, working not only with athletes but with people of all ages and backgrounds who want to feel better, move better, and take control of their long-term health.
While strength training is a core pillar of what I do, I also work with clients on improving sleep quality, daily nutrition, and recovery habits—the less visible but equally important factors that impact energy, performance, and longevity.
Whether you're returning to exercise, managing chronic pain or stiffness, or simply looking to stay ahead of age-related decline, I take a sustainable, principles-first approach that meets you where you are and helps you build from the ground up
My goal is to help you take ownership of your health across the board—so you can not only add life to those years.
